Design for All as a Challenge for Hypermedia Engineering
نویسنده
چکیده
Design for All is an important challenge for hypermedia engineering. We analyze this challenge and show that it is necessary to find a way of describing partially designed hypermedia documents that can then be transformed into different hypermedia applications according to user needs and call this concept “semi-documents”. We sketch similarities and differences to existing formalisms and conclude that there are three areas in which functional languages can make a contribution: the development of an embedded special-purpose language for describing semi-documents, the building of generators which produce hypermedia applications from semi-documents, and the realization of support tools for the development of semi-documents.

Conceptualization, Prototyping And Process Of Hypermedia Applications
Latest-generation hypermedia applications represent a new challenge in traditional design and development software engineering techniques. Although there is an impressive array of models to design hypertext applications, these models may not be specially suited for conceptualization-prototyping stages. In this paper, we provide a comprehensive software engineering approach for dealing with the ...
متن کاملToward an Hypermedia Design Patterns Space
Finding hypermedia design patterns is becoming a new trend in hypermedia design. However, as in other domains, especially in software engineering and objectoriented design, too much increase without control in proposing hypermedia design patterns is going against the purpose of design patterns that is to provide easily reusable solutions to identified problems. The reason is that the metaknowle...

Bridging Bottom-up and Top-down Approaches
the conceptual hypertext data model and abstract navigational model [22] can benefit directly from software engineering approaches. Fundamental differences , however, make a pure transposition of techniques both difficult and inadequate. An important part of hypertext design concerns aesthetic and cog-nitive aspects that software engineering environments do not support. This article focuses on ...
متن کاملHypermedia Support for Argumentation-Based Rationale
Having developed, used and evaluated some of the early IBIS-based approaches to design rationale (DR) such as gIBIS and QOC in the late 1980s/mid-1990s, we describe the subsequent evolution of the argumentation-based paradigm through software support, and perspectives drawn from modeling and meeting facilitation. Particular attention is given to the challenge of negotiating the overheads of cap...
